Compliance is a problem with all medication, but when it’s for immunosuppressants after a transplant it can mean life or death. A group of 41 teens from Mount Sinai Hospital in New York who had had liver transplants were texted once a day to remind them to take their medications. Only two experienced rejections, compared to 12 in a similar group the year before.
